How to get published in next month’s Phantom Magazine
With the publication of this year’s first edition of The Phantom now live and available to read on the Union of Students website, we can start accepting submissions for next month’s magazine! No rest for the wicked, ay?
If this is your first time submitting for The Phantom, don’t be afraid to make the leap!
Here at the Phantom Paper, we are always writing for the month ahead. With that in mind, our November submissions are suitably December themed!
This Month’s Theme: Warmth in Winter
You can be as literal or abstract as you like with the theme, but we want to read your articles on anything relating to our five departments: Features, Humanities, News, Sports, Music & Events.
Whether you’re an experienced editor or a first time scribe, we want to have your voice heard and published on our award-winning platform! Don’t worry about being overly academic either – this is a place to be as formal or casual as you see fit.
Submission Guidelines:
- Please keep your total word count between 500 – 1500 words and state it at the end of your title in brackets.
- E.G: ‘The History of The Standing Order (1042 words)’.
- This doesn’t apply to creative pieces such as poetry or flash fiction.
- On a separate line below your title, state which of our five departments your article fits into: Features, Humanities, News, Sports or Music & Events.
- This ensures your submission is sent to the correct editor.
- At the end of your article state your name as you would like it to appear in the magazine.
- E.G: ‘Written by Adrian Matthews’.
- E.G: ‘Written by Adrian Matthews’.
- Send your submission as a word document (.doc or .docx) to: phantommedia@derbyunion.co.uk
- Alternatively, you can send your submission directly to the corresponding editor on the Phantom Paper Microsoft Teams Channel – see the Meet the Team room for more info
