Goodbye… For Now!
By Steph Compton
I know I’m not technically a part of Phantom anymore, or even a student at all, but I could not pass up the opportunity to write this. Forgive me Phantom, you’ll be rid of me soon.
There has been a change in the winds at Phantom Media, for Bobby Eccles is leaving. That name might not mean much to many who read this, but to Phantom, it does. Phantom has grown and changed a lot over the past three or four years, and that is partly down to all the students who get involved and put in the work, but it is also down to Bobby; for giving us great ideas, support, and the occasional kick up the arse. His ideas really are one-of-a-kind. I mean, he brought in a petting zoo, goats and all, to film a video. Madness, or genius? The support he gives to students involved with the Media does not go unnoticed, and we’re all grateful for it. He and I worked on Phantom for about the same amount of time, and it made those years more fun, more friendly, and goat-tastic.
Whoever takes over this role has big boots to fill, but Phantom will continue to do great stuff with the new Committee this year. I expect big things; Ruby, I’m lookin’ at you.
I think I can speak on behalf of Phantom when I say that we will miss working with you, and miss your crazy ideas, but we know you’ll smash it at your new job.
Best of luck, Bobby!
