Phantom Media Update!
Christmas will soon be upon us. I know, I can’t believe it either, must be almost a year since the last one. I make no apologies for that joke. I thought it might be nice to give you all a little update from Phantom Media. So many of you have been working hard with us all semester (and those who don’t, should!) so I suppose I should do my bit too. Shall we?
Phantom Radio

Phantom Studio
Our Radio Committee and Members are enjoying their new studio, it’s very snazzy. There are some of you out there that would pipe up and say, ‘but the tech issues, the tech issues!’ To you I say, nothing is perfect. It is a huge, huge improvement to our studio of previous years, and hey, its attitude gives it character! Our shows are doing well, we even have our US Officers in every week to host a show. They play fun games on air that you can interact with via our Social Media accounts. With that said, we still have spots available for folks to come in and host shows, particularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mary Haslam, first-year student, hosts a show and she loves it because she gets to ‘inspire people with her words’. Isn’t that nice? Catch her show on Friday evenings. If you think you might want to give this a go next semester, please drop one of us a message! We’d love to hear from you.
Phantom TV

Phantom TV meeting
I love Phantom TV, I do, despite what I’m about to say. They get to do so much cool, fun stuff, and I try not to take it personally every time they post a video online and it blows my page engagement out of the water. You may recognise some of their fine work like, ‘you know you’re a derby student when’ and the infamous bread roll video that nearly caused a riot. (It’s a cob, guys. sorry.) Phantom TV is doing the best it has in a very long time, I’m excited to see what genius stuff they come up with in the new year. Again, if you want to script and shoot a video or a show, or even just want to help our team out in your free time, let us know! You could be behind the next big success.
The Phantom

The Phantom
Last and most certainly not least, the newspaper (which has hit campuses this week people, go and grab one next time you’re in uni). The paper has had an overhaul this year with a brand new design to go with the new Union of Students. It looks pretty awesome. It’s nice to think about how The Phantom started, maybe four years or so ago, and how good it is now. Pick a copy up and have a read of the first articles to be printed this year. Exciting stuff! There are still positions waiting to be filled on this Committee, so if you have a burning passion for writing that cannot be quelled, turn your talents to The Phantom.
There we have it. A little update, and a little shameless promotion for the cause. A big thank you from us at Phantom Media to everyone for their hard work this semester, and we look forward to seeing you all in January. Merry Christmas! Well, almost.
