Sadness
Each and every day everyone goes through a range of different emotions, from being tired, happy and loving all the way down to being sad, upset and fed up. Emotions changing over time is common for everyone, yet being sad is still something that many people are critical over.
No matter who you are or what you go through it’s pretty much a guarantee that at some point, you’ll be feeling sad. It’s a completely normal thing to feel, part of what makes us all human. However more and more people seem to feel like it’s not okay to feel like this.
There are so many people in the world who are sad, yet when asked how they are, they’d rather lie and tell people they’re fine. They’ll put on a fake smile, and face the world no matter how they’re truly feeling inside. I also do this at times, but this shouldn’t have to be the case.
Feeling sad isn’t showing weakness, or making you any less of a person, in fact it makes you human. It’s normal to feel sad every now and again, and it’s better to just let it out. If you feel like you need to cry, write it down or anything to express your feelings, then please do it, it’s so much better to let it out than bottle it up.
Don’t let sadness build up and get too much, do not let it destroy you or take over your life. There is so much more to life and so many positive things.
Also, never feel guilty for how you feel. If you feel sad, never think ‘oh but I shouldn’t feel sad because someone else has it worse than me’. It may be true, there are many people in the world who do have it worse off, but that doesn’t mean that you should put yourself second or feel like you can’t feel down, your feelings are just as important as everyone else’s. Just because what upsets you might not upset someone else, does not mean it doesn’t matter.
If you feel down, never be ashamed of it, talk to someone or just make sure to let it out. Don’t bottle it up, and don’t feel like you have to hide it from the rest of the world. Without sadness, people wouldn’t learn to appreciate everything that is good in the world, so sadness isn’t always a bad thing. You’re never alone in it, and hiding it away is something that no one should feel obliged to do.
