Record-breaking Victory For Team Derby
Team Derby men’s badminton 1sts won 8–0 for the first time in a respectful series of games against visitors Cambridge University.
Derby started well with double wins against both pairs coming in quick succession. Ryan
Quek, Derby’s male singles 1st, also made short work of Cambridge’s best player. This is
Derby’s third win so far this term having claimed 6-2 and 7-1 victories already.
Derby’s women’s 1st also won their series of games with the score ending 7 -1 to the home team.
Derby have won 8-0, 8-0 and 7-1 in their games this season and they are heavy favourites for promotion.
James Boxall, Derby’s head coach, is very confident in his teams’ ability this season. He said: “We are going for promotion with all three teams”
