A/W 17 Trends to get you though the term // Turnermiss
Autumn/Winter has always been my kind of season, with woolly jackets and knee high boots and getting all cosy in a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate. So to make sure you’re ready and not left out in the cold I’ve scoped out the catwalks and WGSN and found the best trends this season.
Colours
Vibrant colours inspired by nature is high on trend this season. Deep forest green, navy and wine are definitely going to be my favourites to wear from now on. In addition to these dark colours a spot of bright reds and pinks can be added to express a happier side of the season.
Textures
Obviously knit is the main runner for the autumn/winter season, but this year the novelty jumper oozes personality with bold prints and clashing cardigans. It’s time to be out there with your fashion choices and release the knitted jumpers made by your Grandma and the geeky round glasses because it’s sexy as hell this season. This trend especially comes in handy when you’re in a Thursday morning lecture hanging from the night before and you just want to curl up in your jumper.
I’ve never been a fan of the quilted coat look, however this year it looks hot! Combining soft, silky fabric and padded shapes, Roksanda and Stella McCartney are giving me the fuzzy feels. A floral pattern transforms the look from farmer attire to the IT girl from Manhattan chic – I love a good gossip girl comparison. Speaking of Stella McCartney, check out the collection here – https://www.businessoffashion.com/fashion-week/2017pf/stella-mccartney/collection/look/40 – Everything you could ever want for the fall season.
I could go on and on with the biggest trends this season, but for now I’ll stop. I’m looking forward to seeing these hit the stores and witness the creations you guys will make on the streets. Fashion is how you express yourself so don’t be afraid to make bold choices, that’s what it’s all about!
Much love,
Turnermiss xx
