Missed some important TV or radio? – BoB’s got you covered!

When researching a topic it’s easy to find historical archives of newspaper or journals but TV and radio can be more difficult. Box of Broadcasts (BoBs) is an archiving and recording service for radio and TV and contains over 60 English and foreign language channels. There are currently over one million programmes ready to view in the searchable archive and BBC recordings from 2007 are available.
All of these programmes are available at the click of a button and unlike TV or radio on demand websites such as iPlayer, the programmes in the archive are available forever. As well as the archive, you can schedule recordings for up to 30 days in advance, create playlists, edit programmes into shorter relevant clips and embed those clips into websites. You can also easily grab formatted citations for programmes to add to your academic work. Everyone at the University of Derby can use BoBs free of charge. Just visit www.bobnational.net and login using your university details.
